The Potentials of Solar Energy in the Republic of Serbia

Abstract: Although the potential of solar energy in the Republic of Serbia is up to 30% higher than in the countries of the European Union that lead to the implementation of these technologies, the Republic of Serbia is ranked among the countries with the lowest production in the region with the production of 10 MV solar PV capacities. The aim of the paper was to present the current balanced capacities, related to solar PV energy, in the Republic of Serbia and countries in the region. In order to present better the mate… Show more

“…Cities have a key role in implementing EU policy to improve energy efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and reduce CO 2 emissions. The building sector (BS) is responsible for 40% of global energy consumption and 30% of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, while CO 2 emissions in the BS are at 38% [2]. Local authorities have a major role in the fight against climate change because a significant part of CO 2 emissions in cities comes from the BS.…”

“…This is the rationale behind further studying the area mentioned and selecting a supplier who will support the efforts of companies in achieving this aim. It should be noted that if the geographical location of the company is favorable, the justification of this project increases [13]. In addition, more companies are deciding to install these panels, thus reducing their costs and impact on environmental pollution, because most of the electricity in Bosnia and Herzegovina is produced from non-environmentally friendly sources.…”

“…Energy is a fundamental element for the functioning of contemporary society, and the laws governing its use have both economic and strategic-political implications. The objective of the European Union's energy policy is to decrease reliance on imported energy and energy products by encouraging the implementation of energy-saving measures and the inclusion of renewable energy sources (RES) [1]. Acquiring energy relies on various sources that vary by country.…”
