The Linoh Dayak people have long used medicinal plants to deal with health problems in their community. However, along with the advancement of science, the influx of foreign cultures and the degradation of nature and the environment, traditional knowledge about medicinal plants is only owned by the older generation, and the transmission of information is limited by word of mouth and not well documented. This study aimed to document various medicinal plants used by the Dayak Linoh people. The research used a qualitative approach using field surveys. Informants were selected using the purposive sampling method. The informants interviewed consisted of customary leaders (key informants), village heads (main informants), and recommended informants, such as traditional birth attendants (village midwives), hamlet heads, and community members who know medicinal plants. Medicinal plant data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation related to the local names of the plants, the parts used, and how to manage and use them. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results showed that 55 species of medicinal plants consisting of 34 plant families were used by the Dayak Linoh tribe. The most widely used part of the plant is the leaf (39, 71%). People in the community boiled the leaves and drank the extract. The most used families in the three tribal communities of the Dayak Linoh tribe, were Zingiberaceae (9 species) and Myrtaceae (3 species). The plant parts used by the Dayak Linoh tribe were root, tuber, rhizome, stem, bark, banana heart, fruit, fruit skin, leaf, and seed. The Dayak Linoh tribe used medicinal plants to treat boil (7 plants) and for postpartum stamina recovery (7 plants). The communities processed and used the medicinal herbs conventionally by boiling and drinking.

Ethnobotany is the study of the traditional use of various kinds of plants by rural communities. Ethnobotany has a very important role to understand the relationship between people and plants. This study aims to determine the number of species medicinal plants and how to use traditional medicinal plants in Wawo distrrict, Bima Regency. This research is descriptive exploratory. Data collection techniques by means of interviews, observation, documentation, and experience. Determining the initial information in this study was carried out by purposive sampling method continued with the snowball sampling method until the data was saturated. Data analysis uses qualitative and quantitative analysis. We documented 83 species belonging to 37 families. The most abundant families are Zingiberaceae (13 species), and Fabaceae (6 species). There are 8 ways to use it, namely that is, by drinking without boiling (18%), boiled before drinking (40%), smeared (20%), dripped (5%), rubbed (8%), blown (3%), gargle (3%), sprayed (3%), the method of utilizing medicinal plants which is most often used by the people of In the Wawo district by boiling before drinking with the highest percentage, which is 40%. The percentages of medicinal plant diversity based on habitus were 55% trees, 6% lianas, 12% small trees, and 25% herbs. There is a need for written documentation regarding knowledge about the use of medicinal plants in In the Wawo Disrict and can be passed on to the younger generation, as well as the need for bioactive research so that traditional use by the community can be scientifically proven.

Traditional beliefs and plants are pivotal during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Little is known of Sundanese, a small ethnic group whose traditions and use of plants facilitate easier pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. This study aimed to determine the traditional beliefs and types of plants used by Sundanese mothers of Bandung District, West Java, Indonesia during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. Individual interviews using structured questions were conducted to collect socio-demography data and gather information on traditional beliefs and the use of plants concerning pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. Purposive and snowball sampling was employed to enroll women of reproductive age who were either pregnant at the time of the study or had recently given birth and were postpartum. Data were collected from 119 Sundanese women. These women frequently used 25 different medicinal plant species from 21 families to treat various conditions that arise during pregnancy and childbirth. The Zingiberaceae plant family was observed to be the most commonly used, with leaves being the most frequently utilized plant part. Decoction and cooking were reported as the most favored remedy preparation. The most effective plants during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum were Cocos nucifera L., Cocos nucifera L., and Sauropus androgynus (L.) Merr., respectively. Therefore, to promote sustainable women's health in rural areas, the current findings highlight the necessity for conservation efforts and further studies on the phytochemical and pharmacological aspects of frequently used food and medicinal plants.
