Abstract:New hexadecylpiperidinium surfactants, containing one or two butylcarbamate fragments, were synthesized. The antimicrobial activity, toxicity, aggregation behavior in aqueous solutions, and solubilization capacity of these surfactants towards the hydrophobic drug ibuprofen were characterized.
