“…Indeed, the literature even reveals that cyclophosphamide concentration as part of the standard Bu‐Cy regimen (busulfan, cyclophosphamide) was decreased from 200 to 120 mg/kg, while busulfan doses remained unchanged 149 . The notion that testicular dysfunction progressively recovers following busulfan‐based treatment during childhood 70 is validated in murine preclinical models 134,135 …”

“…Busulfan is a component of a preparative regimen for hematopoietic cell transplantation. In prepubertal rats, a single dose of 40 mg/kg managed to impair germ, Sertoli, and Leydig cells up to 10 weeks after treatment, with a mild improvement 10 weeks later 134 . Likewise, in mice, a comparable injection of 45 mg/kg reduced germ cell count up to 8 weeks post‐treatment, with density thereafter being comparable to untreated controls.…”
