“…During forward scan, the appearance of the anodic peak at −0.6 V indicates Ni/Ni 2+ oxidation, followed by the change of Ni(OH) 2 to Ni(OH) 2 until 0.4 V (vs Ag/AgCl). Ni 2+ /Ni 3+ oxidation is detected at 0.45 V, whereas the Ni 3+ /Ni 2+ is seen at roughly 0.35 V as cathodic peak in backward scan 45‐48 . The anodic current increase at −0.25 V is corresponding to the transformation of Co/Co 2+ oxidation 1,49‐51 .…”

“…For the G/Ni and G/Ni/Ag electrodes, Ni/Ni 2+ oxidation peaks were detected at −0.7 V. Furthermore, the transformation of α‐Ni(OH) 2 to β‐Ni(OH) 2 was seen between the potential ranges of −0.6 to 0.4 V (vs Ag/AgCl). The anodic peak centered at 0.45 V was Ni 2+ /Ni 3+ transition and the cathodic peak at almost 0.5 V, corresponding to the Ni 3+ /Ni 2+ reduction 69‐72 . For the G/Ni/Ag electrode during the forward scan, the peak between 0.1 and 0.35 V is attributed to the oxidation of Ag (Ag/Ag 2 O and Ag 2 O/AgO) according to the equations shown below 73,74 …”

“…The cyclic voltammograms of G, G/Ni, and G/Ni/Ag were presented in Figure 3. The measurement presents information not only about the characterization of electrochemically deposited metallic coatings but also about HER activity of the electrodes when we compare the initial part of the cathodic potential region 69 …”
