“…The only fibers that were omitted from this table are early fibers fabricated and tested prior to 2019, which did not cool because their OH content was elevated, 19 and various commercial Yb-doped silica fibers, which all failed to cool. 20,21 and that it produces fibers with extremely low core impurities (OH, Fe). The Al concentration for this group of fibers ranges from 0.86 wt.% to 2.0 wt.%.…”

“…Since then, numerous research works have been conducted to explore their chromic mechanism and applications. [ 46 ] For a transparent glass containing silver halide nanoparticles, as shown in the schematic diagram of Figure a, the silver ions in the particles could be reduced to silver atoms under the high energy ultraviolet light irradiation (Cl − + hv → Cl + e −1 and e −1 + Ag + → Ag), [ 47 ] causing a color change in glass turning from colorless to dark. Placing discolored Ag X ( X = F, Cl, Br, I) glass in a dark environment, the metallic silver clusters are easily decomposed to silver ions, and the color of discolored glass restores their initial state.…”

“…[ 6 ] Typically, PNCs embedded in the glass matrix exhibit much improved stability due to the effective protection of the glass, which can keep PNCs away from the environment. [ 7 ] However, the high stability of glass makes it difficult to tune the PL of PNCs in glass and modifying the molar content of different halide elements in the raw material powder was usually necessary to regulate halide ions and PL of PNCs in whole corresponding glass. [ 8 ] Recently, ultrafast laser direct writing has been demonstrated to be a fascinating technique to generate halide‐tunable PNCs in glass via liquid nanophase separation and ion exchange and tune the PL of PNCs in a single glass chip.…”
