The partition function of the supersymmetric two-dimensional black hole and little string theory

Abstract: Abstract:We compute the partition function of the supersymmetric two-dimensional Euclidean black hole geometry described by the SL(2, R)/U (1) superconformal field theory. We decompose the result in terms of characters of the N = 2 superconformal symmetry. We point out puzzling sectors of states besides finding expected discrete and continuous contributions to the partition function. By adding an N = 2 minimal model factor of the correct central charge and projecting on integral N = 2 charges we compute the pa… Show more

“…In particular we show here that the β-method of Gepner [4] for constructing modular invariants can be adapted to the non-compact case. We then start the discussion of the localized spectrum [22,12,24], which is characteristic of non-compact models.…”

“…This solution can be also be thought as conformal to a cone over the Einstein space SU (3) /U (1). Using the same methods as for the NS5-branes in [IKPT04], we can show that the full solution corresponding to the model (4.158) can be obtained directly as the null super-coset:…”

“…Calling R its radius in string units, one can define a double scaling limit of the system [6] (g s → 0, R/g s fixed) in order to reach the near-horizon geometry of all fivebranes simultaneously. Remarkably the ring geometry is an exactly solvable worldsheet cft [7,8]. Its transverse part is T-dual to…”
