“…For untreated CF, the broad band in the range of 2,800–2,980 cm −1 is attributed to the stretching vibration of C–H of methyl and methylene groups, the bands centered at about 1,050–1,100 cm −1 and 1,580–1,699 cm −1 is assigned to the stretching vibration of C–C and C=C, respectively . For CF–COOH, the broad band at 3,433 cm −1 is related to the stretching vibration of hydroxyl groups, and the new characteristic bonds appear at 1,735 cm −1 , which are assigned to the C=O stretching vibration of carboxylic groups , confirming that the untreated CF surface has been oxidized and etched by the acid modification method.…”

“…According to Wang and Zhang, the incorporation of CFs can significantly improve the friction‐reducing and anti‐wear abilities of polyimide (PI) under dry sliding conditions, while Li and Cheng found the incorporation of CFs into PI can generally reduce the wear rate of composites, but may either increase or reduce the friction coefficient with different CF contents. Aromatic PI fiber has been recognized as one of the most important high‐performance polymeric fibers with superior performances such as excellent thermal stability, good chemical resistance, radiation shielding capability, and so on . In order to expand the application of the PI fibers, mechanical properties and other performance need to be improved.…”

“…The CFs were cleaned in supercritical acetone/water at 360°C for 20 min to remove polymer sizing and pollutants , and were denoted as untreated CF. Then the extracted CF was treated in 0.01 mol·L −1 AgNO 3 /0.1mol·L −1 K 2 S 2 O 8 solution at 60°C for 1 h to generate carboxylic groups (CF‐COOH) .…”
