The Outcome of the Chemotherapy and Oncothermia for Far Advanced Adenocarcinoma of the Lung: Case Reports of Four Patients

Abstract: Lung cancer is one of the most aggressive and lethal form of cancers. Patients with far advanced lung cancer are treated by chemotherapy with or without radiotherapy. However, median survival of these patients is less than 6 months. To increase survival and quality of life for these patients, various forms of complementary treatments have been tried in clinical practices, and oncothermia is supposed to be one of the promising candidates. From May 2008 to November 2013, 4 patients with far advanced lung adenoca… Show more

“…The mEHT treatment has successful clinical records on lung cancer (267), and case reports of advanced and special cases support its application (268,269). When mEHT was applied to lung tumors simultaneously with intravenous ascorbic acid the plasma concentration of ascorbic acid was significantly increased, compared to intravenous ascorbic acid applied alone, or after mEHT.…”

“…Cancers 2023, 15, x FOR PEER REVIEW 14 of 28 Another massively present malignancy in the world is advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Application of mEHT on advanced NSCLCs also has numerous case studies [63,[122][123][124][125][126] and trials [60,79,[127][128][129][130]. The comparison of the survival distributions shows similarities again, and the data pool remarkably differs from the propensity score data by mining in USA and EU databases [130], Figure 8.…”

“…It has long been used in clinical practice for various malignant diseases, with efficacy proven by the numerous documented case reports and clinical studies. There have been some published case reports [25][26][27][28][29][30] and studies [31][32][33], showing its efficacy for the treatment of NSCLC and even in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) [34]. mEHT is based on the modulated electric field effect, which works in synergy with heat [35].…”
