The Ongoing Transmutation of Type 1 Diabetes: Disparities in Care and Outcomes

Abstract: to benefit and live well. Feudtner's argument still rings true that, "while current practice tends to stress the noble yet too often obsessive pursuit of cure, patients living with transmuted disease would be well served by greater emphasis on the less heroic but elemental ethic of caring. We must learn to live-and to live better-with illness." (1, p167).
