ABSTRACT:With the increasingly rapid growth of urbanization and climate change, urban rainfall monitoring as well as urban waterlogging has widely been paid attention. In the light of conventional siting selection methods do not take into consideration of geographic surroundings and spatial-temporal scale for the urban rain gauge site selection, this paper primarily aims at finding the appropriate siting selection rules and methods for rain gauge in urban area. Additionally, for optimization gauge location, a spatial decision support system (DSS) aided by geographical information system (GIS) has been developed. In terms of a series of criteria, the rain gauge optimal site-search problem can be addressed by a multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA). A series of spatial analytical techniques are required for MCDA to identify the prospective sites. With the platform of GIS, using spatial kernel density analysis can reflect the population density; GIS buffer analysis is used to optimize the location with the rain gauge signal transmission character. Experiment results show that the rules and the proposed method are proper for the rain gauge site selection in urban areas, which is significant for the siting selection of urban hydrological facilities and infrastructure, such as water gauge. Changfeng Jing

Geoinformation Support and Web Technologies for Problems of Hydrobiological Monitoring of Yenisei River

Abstract.Results of long-term hydrobiological monitoring for the Yenisei river section from the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station dam to the village Zotino (Turukhansk district of the Krasnoyarsk region) are considered. Researching of zoobenthos showed significant changes of its structure after the Krasnoyarsk HPP dam construction. In particular, the proportion of amphipods (crustaceans) in the zoobenthos biomass increased by 10 times. In the expeditionary studies, seven species of amphipods were identified, but it should be noted that only two species develop and clearly dominate among them. Data obtained during the hydrobiological research formed the basis of geospatial database developed as a result of the work. The geospatial database with the observation results is available in the ICM SB RAS geoportal. The geoportal services provide data visualization in the form of interactive thematic maps, information about the objects on the map as "tooltips", information downloading in tabular form, direct access to the data through the web mapping services. Information and analytical support for the monitoring system based on the considered approach can simplify access to the needed information, provide new opportunities for analysis and modeling, promote the development of cross-disciplinary researches.

Choosing the best form of domestic sewage treatment requires analyses that allow decision-making on the ideal solutions for implementation, according to the particularities of each regionality, especially when it comes to rural and isolated areas dependent on decentralized solutions. Thus, through this study, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used from a data collection on simplified treatment systems existing in temperate municipalities without a dry season, to evaluate priority systems in different scenarios considering environmental, social, and technical-economic indicators. Among the results for the scenarios performed, the compact upflow anaerobic reactor, the septic tank and anaerobic filter, and the septic tank and built-in flooded system of vertical subsurface flow were the solutions that proved to be the most indicated following the indicators used and the existing information. It is noteworthy that the results refer to the study area in question, and new applications of the method are needed in different climatic regions. From the application of the methodology, the AHP tool indicated that it is a viable method to assist in decision-making regarding the selection of sewage treatment systems in rural areas, which, being tied to municipal planning in basic sanitation, assists in the optimization of existing resources. The sensitivity of the method showed the importance of its application with data collected on site, in addition to the incorporation of public and experts opinions in the contribution of the degree of importance of the criteria and indicators used.
