“…The true prevalence of PsA in the general population is not fully clear, but is reported to be 0.13-0.25% in the Nordic countries (2)(3)(4)(5). By applying classification criteria for psoriatic arthritis [ClASsification criteria for Psoriatic ARthritis (CASPAR) study] (6), the prevalence of PsA in psoriasis patients was estimated to be 13.8% (1), while other studies report a higher prevalence of 27-30% (7)(8)(9).…”

“…Epidemiologische Daten zur PsA erscheinen in der Literatur sehr heterogen. So wird die Prävalenz einer PsA bei Patienten mit Psoriasis (Ps) zwischen 10% und 73% angegeben in Abhängigkeit von der Studienpopulation und den verwendeten zahlreichen Klassifikationskriterien [2,3,7,8,9].…”

“…In a recent epidemiological study conducted in Denmark, the prevalence of PsA in the general population was estimated as 0.14% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.11%–0.19%) according to the Classification Criteria for Psoriatic Arthritis (CASPAR) [9]. In the United States, the overall age- and sex-adjusted annual incidence of PsA was 7.2 per 100,000 (95% CI: 6.0–8.4), with a higher incidence in men (9.1, 95% CI: 7.1–11.0) than in women (5.4, 95% CI: 4.0–6.9) [10].…”
