DNA sequences have been obtained for proA from Serratia marcescens (Omori et al, 1991) and E. coli (Deutch et al, 1984), and for leuB from several organisms (Sekiguchi et al, 1986(Sekiguchi et al, , 1987Imai et al 1987;Kirino & Oshima, 1991). We have isolated B. abortus DNA clones that restore enzyme activity for y-glutamylphosphate reductase and p-isopropylmalate dehydrogenase in E. coli strains deficient in these enzymes.…”
