The nucleon-nucleon interaction in terms of quark degrees of freedom

Abstract: t lnstitut fiir Theoretische Phydk, University of Tobingen. D-7400 Tiibingen, Federal Republic of Germany Received I July 1993Abstrad. A modilied quarkquark interaction is applied to study lhe nucleon-nucleon interaction. The quark potential is suggested by inslanton models and includes pion (n) and sigma ( 0 ) exchanges as non-perturbative components and the one-gluon exchange as a pemrbative one. The nucleon-nucleon potential derived from this model presents short-range repulsion and mediun-range attraction … Show more

“…We have also worked out the predictions for the strangeness-less baryons of the SU(2) chirally inspired quark-quark interactions developed in Ref. [22,29]. The chirally inspired potential, AL1χ, predicts masses for the Λ Q baryons of about 155 (charm sector) and 168 (bottom sector) MeV smaller than those obtained from the phenomenological AL1 interaction.…”

“…The chiral quark model includes the interaction between the constituent quark and chiral fields (π, K, η) besides the quark gluon interaction. Replacing the nucleon fields in the linear σ model [352] with quarks, one gets the SU(2) σ model at the quark level [353]. The interaction term reads…”
