The nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of diethyl Z‐ and E‐[2‐(methoxycarbonyl)vinyl]phosphonate

Abstract: The 'H and 31P nmr spectra of the title compounds are reported. The geometrical isomers are assigned from their proton spectra in the vinylene region. A rc-interaction between the P atom and the C=C bond is indicated by the difference in the geminal PH coupling constants of the two isomers and by the position of the "P resonance.the separation of the geometrical E-[Z-(methoxycarbonyl)vinyl]pliosdescribed.

Aus den (E)-(b-Acylviny1)phosphonaten 1 werden mit Cyclopentadien die isomeren Norbornylphosphonate 2 (endo-Acyl, exo-P) und 3 (exo-Acyl, endo-P) im Verhaltnis 7: 3 erhalten. Mit 1,3-Cyclohexadien liefert 1 a die entsprechenden Bicyclooctenyl-Derivate 7 und 8. Aus dem (2)-Phosphinylacrylsaureester 4 entstehen mit Cyclopentadien die Isorneren 5 (exo-CO,Me, exo-P) und 6 (endo-C02Me, endo-P) in annahernd gleichen Mengen. Die Konfiguration der Cycloaddukte folgt aus den 'H-NMR-Spektren. Reactions with Organophosphorus Compounds, 49 1)Synthesis and 'H NMR Spectra of (3-Acylbicyclo[2.2.1lhepl-5-en-2-yl)phosphonates Reaction of the (E)-(P-acylviny1)phosphonates 1 with cyclopentadiene yields the isomeric norbornylphosphonates 2 (endo-acyl, exo-P) and 3 (exo-acyl, endo-P) in a 7 : 3 ratio. With 1,3-cyclohexadiene the corresponding bicyclooctenyl derivatives 7 and 8 are obtained from 1 a. The (2)-phosphinylacrylate 4 gives with cyclopentadiene the isomers 5 (exo-C02Me, exo-P) and 6 (endo-C02Me, endo-P) in nearly equal amounts. The configuration of the cycloadducts has been proved by 'H NMR spectroscopy.Der Verlauf der Michaelis-Arbusow-Reaktion von (P-Chlorviny1)ketonen mit verschiedenen Trialkylphosphiten ist vor kurzem eingehend untersucht 2, und darnit eine Moglichkeit zur Synthese der vorher nur an wenigen Beispielen beschriebenen 3 -7, (P-Acy1vinyl)phosphonate aufgezeigt worden. Diese verdienen besonders irn Hinblick auf den Zugang zu biologisch relevanten Strukturen erhohte Aufmerksamkeit. Unter anderem interessierte uns ihr Verhalten gegenuber Dienen. Vor allem sollte geklart werden, welche sekundaren Orbitalwechselwirkungen bei der Adduktbildung zum Tragen komrnen. So ist bei der kinetisch kontrollierten Cycloaddition eines (E)-(bAcylviny1)phosphonats rnit einem cyclischen Dien dann ein Addukt mit endo-Acylrest und exoPhosphonatgruppe zu erwarten, wenn die RCO -C H = CH-Anordnung elektronisch dominiert. Im umgekehrten Fall sollte demnach bevorzugt ein bicyclisches Phosphonat mit endo-P-und exoAcyl-Orientierung gebildet werden.Uber die Verwendung von einfachen Vinylphosphonsaureestern bei Diels-Alder-Reaktionen ist mehrfach berichtet worden 8 ~ ''1. Die Konfiguration der aus Vinylphosphonsaure-dimethylester rnit verschiedenen Cyclopentadien-Derivaten erhaltenen (Bicyclo[2.2.l]heptenyl)phosphonate wurde mit Hilfe der Protonenresonanzspektren ermittelt '1).In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird iiber die Reaktion der (P-Acylviny1)phosphonate l a -c und 4 mit Cyclopentadien bzw. 1,3-Cyclohexadien sowie uber den sterischen Verlauf dieser Umsetzungen berichtet .

Die Umsetzung von 2-Chlorvinylketonen 1 mit Trialkylphosphiten 2 nach Michaelis-Arbusow fiihrt nicht nur zu den erwarteten 2-Acylvinylphosphonaten 3, sondern auch zu den Enolphosphaten 4 und zu den 3-0x0-1 ,I-alkandiyldiphosphonaten 5. Bei Anwendung der Michaelis-BeckerVariante entstehen jedoch ausschliel3lich die Verbindungstypen 4 und 5, wie anhand der Reaktionsprodukte 4d und 5 d gezeigt werdcn konnte. Wahrend Trimethyl-und Triethylphosphit (2a bzw. 2b) mit den 2-Chlorvinylketonen l a -I d jeweils die Produktgemische3a-3e, 4 a -4 e und 5 a -5 e liefern, entstehen bei Verwendung von Triisopropylphosphit (2c) bisweilen nur Reaktionsprodukte des ini Titel genannten Typs 3. So liefert 2c mit l a nur ein Gemisch aus der Hauptnienge des 2-Acylvinylphosphonats 3f und des in untergeordneter Menge auftretenden 3-0x0-l,l-alkandiyldiphosphonats 5f. Nach Umsetzung von 2c mit 1 d wird als definiertes Reaktionsprodukt nur noch das 2-Acylvinylphosphonat 3 g isoliert.Reactions with Organophosphorus Compounds. XLlV'). -Synthesis of Dialkyl 3-0x0-1-alkenylphosphonates The Michaelis-Arbusov reaction of 2-chlorovinyl ketones 1 with trialkyl pho\phites 2 gives 2-acylvinylphosphonates 3 as well as enolphosphates 4 and 3-0x0-1 ,I-alkanediyldiphosphonates 5. Using the Michaelis-Becker procedure only the compounds 4 and 5 are formed ar demonstrated in the case of 4 d and 5d. Reaction of trimethyl and triethyl phosphite (2a and 2b) with 2-chlorovinyl ketones l a -I d yields mixtures of products 3 a -3 e , 4 a -4 e and 5 a -5 e ; whereas reaction with triisopropyl phosphite (2c) gives predominantly compound 3. For example, 2c and l a react to form a mixture consisting mainly of 2-acyl\inylphosphonate 3f and a small amount of 3-0xo-l,1-alkanediyldiphosphonate 5 f.
