The Novel Energy Adaptive Protocol for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks

Abstract: Progress in wireless communication has made possible the development of low cost wireless sensor networks. In recent years, as the development of wireless sensor networks, people have done some research on cluster-based protocol, about the proongation of the lifetime of WSN and decrease of energy consumed by the sensors. Clustering sensor nodes is an effective topology control approach, but these algorithms are not optimized for the characteristics of heterogeneous wireless sensor networks. “…In the past, data were saved and transported in punch cards, floppy disks and compact discs [1]. The features provided by the network systems such as e-mail, wireless networks such as wireless sensor networks (WSNs), integrated Wireless Networks and mobile phones have fostered a remarkable development in the communications industry [2][3][4][5][6]. RFID system is composed of two hardware parts: 1) the tag that contains the stored data, 2) the reader, which not only establishes a wireless conception with the tag, but also can receive and interpret the data stored in the tag.…”

“…All sensor node can communicate with other sensor node and cluster head by using Rh in single hop. [13] Alpha (α) is much low than Rh sink node can send a signal to dissemination node (DN) in single hop. These DN determine by cross point.…”

“…The network comprising a variety of different type sensor nodes is called the heterogeneous sensor networks, conversely, comprising the same type sensor nodes is called homogeneous sensor networks. At present, research on energy efficiency [3,4,5] and configuration strategy [6,7] is given priority for heterogeneous sensor networks, and research on the reliability of node is less. In the heterogeneous sensor network consisting of most common nodes with less energy and a few senior nodes with more energy, senior nodes as clustering-head generally manage the other common nodes as member, collect the sensing data and transmit to the sink or gathering node.…”
