It is reported that the rapid rate of urbanization has negative impacts on the environment, society, and economic conditions in the capital of Pakistan, which need to be addressed for sustainability. This study attempts to quantify the level of urban sustainability by using a Multiple Linear Regression Analysis in a social context. Primary data were collected through a random sampling survey, while secondary data were collected from the Capital Development Authority, public documents, and past studies or case reports. These data were associated with land values, property rent, the availability of commercial space, social security, the sense of belonging, and the frequency of urban flooding. The major sources of secondary data were the revised master plan of the city (2020–2040), urban gazette data, land value registers, property dealers’ records of real estate, and government documents. The results of the analyses show that there is a strong correlation between the selected variables and the urban sustainability of the area. These results were expressed through the coefficient of regression and coefficient of correlation through regression statistics, including R = 0.801 for economic sustainability, R = 0.822 for urban sustainability, and R = 0.905 for social sustainability. The results reveal that the level of urban sustainability is at risk due to overpopulation and the degradation of the ecosystem. It is concluded that there is a need for the implementation of a revised master plan in the area for the sustainable development of the city.

Abstrak Urbanisasi membawa pengaruh yang besar pada lingkungan perkotaan, salah satunya adalah perubahan guna lahan yang memengaruhi perubahan iklim seperti kenaikan suhu permukaan di perkotaan atau Surface Urban Heat Islands (SUHI). Penelitian di Perkotaan Temanggung untuk melihat dampak fenomena SUHI, menemukenali ancaman dan respon yang tepat dalam penanganannya. Analisis spasial dengan SIG yang dilakukan antara lain klasifikasi, overlay, dan digital image processing. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Infrastruktur Hijau (IH) yang sudah ada belum dapat menurunkan SUHI secara optimal. Didapat kawasan terbangun bertambah seluas 98,29 atau naik 22% di wilayah penelitian pada priode 2013 -2020, sehingga mengakibatkan kenaikan suhu permukaan. Wilayah yang mengalami kenaikan suhu permukaan diatas 30 °C bertambah 84,96 ha atau naik 268 % dibandingkan pada tahun 2013. .Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa pengembangan Infrastruktur Hijau (IH) masih harus terus dilakukan. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa untuk menjamin kota yang berkelanjutan, perencanaan IH harus menjadi program prioritas.

Background: This article identifies and examines key performance indicators (KPIs) related to citizen mobility logistics in smart and sustainable urban areas. It begins with a comprehensive literature review to identify essential KPIs, offering valuable insights for both public and private stakeholders, including policymakers and mobility service providers. Drawing from various mobility projects in smart cities, the study extracts common KPIs and best practices. The focus of the paper then turns to Barcelona, Spain, where KPIs that matter most are analyzed. Methods: Using open data from the city council spanning from 2017 onwards, the study provides insights into the evolving mobility logistics landscape. KPIs from other European cities are also considered by utilizing similar open data sources. This comparative analysis provides valuable benchmarks and reveals disparities in mobility logistics. Throughout this investigation, the paper emphasizes the role of data quality in KPI selection. Results: Reliable open data significantly influence indicator choices and present challenges when comparing cities. Remarkably, the findings consistently highlight environmental data as an area requiring attention in sustainable mobility logistics. Conclusions: This paper makes contributions by identifying and examining KPIs relevant to citizen mobility logistics in smart and sustainable urban areas. It offers insights by applying these KPIs to Barcelona and conducting comparative analyses with other European cities. These findings serve as a valuable resource for policymakers, city planners, and mobility experts.
