“…Subsequent to the initial reduction and analysis of the raw data, however, raw data records were scanned using the graphics capability of the two software systems to identify factors that might explain the magnitude of the ICC values obtained for the raw data analysis. Several factors were identified within the raw data files for the Cybex II: 1) impact artifact, or torque overshoot (11), was present in all of the data records and was more prominent in the data records for 1 80°/sec; 2) torque recordings within segments of impact artifact data often were identified by the computer software for observations of peak torque for knee flexion and extension efforts at 180°/sec; 3) segments of the torqueangular displacement curve that included impact artifact data were included in the software computation of angular work for both angular velocities; and 4) subjects often reversed the direction of angular displacement from flexion to extension prior to obtaining 105' knee flexion, and often reversed the direction of angular displacement from extension to flexion prior to reaching 0' knee flexion. Failure to complete the zero to 105' ROM also was noted for many of the Biodex raw data files.…”
