In today's realities, the virtual environment has become a kind of social platform for professional activities, learning, communication, obtaining information, entertainment, etc. The major transition of educational institutions to Журнал «Перспективи та інновації науки» (Серія «Педагогіка», Серія «Психологія», Серія «Медицина») № 11(29) 2023 552 distance learning has caused the violent implementation of Internet communication in the lives of teenagers, because it has become a necessary condition for learning.If in the period before the COVID pandemic, teenagers mostly used social networks to establish contacts and find communities of interest, today the sphere of Internet communication has expanded to more business-like interaction with other participants in the educational process, such as classmates, teachers, etc.In order to identify the psychological features of Internet communication of students of 9-10 forms, the change in trends regarding this phenomenon due to the influence of external conditions, challenges, risks compared to the state in the pre-COVID period, an empirical study was conducted according to the psychodiagnostics of O. Zinchenko.The obtained results made it possible to find out that the majority of surveyed 9th form students prefer live communication in the real world, and with the transition to high school, teenagers prefer virtual communication. The tendency to more comfortable communication on the Internet despite real communication, which is observed in 10th form students, correlates with data on the increase in the number of Internet contacts of teenagers and the tendency to more open-minded communication with age. It was also found out that almost all respondents, who are currently abroad and have to communicate with classmates via the Internet, consider real social contacts to be more comfortable than virtual ones. Changes in the topics of communication among teenagers were revealed: most 9th form students are interested in discussing personal problems, while older teenagers pointed at communication topics related to study or leisure, and personal matters for them receded into the background. The obtained data proved the transfer of one's own emotions to Internet communication, discussion of personal issues, self-expression using photos, music, videos, as the characteristic of adolescence. At the same time, in comparison with similar data provided in the study of O. Zinchenko in 2015, a difference was found in relation to Internet communication of teenagers of the same age (15 years old) studying in different forms (9th or 10th form).
