The nanocomposites of zinc oxide/L‐amino acid‐based chiral poly(ester‐imide) via an ultrasonic route: Synthesis, characterization, and thermal properties

Abstract: In this investigation, a chiral poly) ester‐imide) (PEI) via direct polyesterification of N,N′‐(pyromellitoyl)‐bis‐(L‐tyrosine dimethyl ester) and N‐trimellitylimido‐L‐methionine was prepared using the tosyl chloride/pyridine/N,N′‐dimethylformamide system as a condensing agent. This approach allows the insertion of two natural amino acids into the polymer backbone and the creation of a bioactive polymer. From the chemical point of view, the ester groups impart to the polymer's main and side chain increased sen… Show more

“…23,24 In addition to the disappearance of PACl, a new NAH peak (at 3451 cm 21 ) formed after the reactions between NH 2 and PACl to produce a PANAH linkage. 28,29 According to these results, the functional surfacemodification agent was successfully synthesized. The absorption peaks at about 1224 and 860 cm 21 were assigned to the P@N and PAN stretching vibrations of HCCP.…”

“…Zinc oxide nanoparticles were used as reinforcement fillers for improving the structural properties of a wide range of polymers such as rubber [159], PP [160], PET [161], epoxy resin [162,163], PMMA [164], polysulfone [165] and many others [166][167][168][169][170]. Also nanocomposites based on renewable sources were studied [171].…”

“…According to our previous work in the field of polymers NCs [34][35][36] , in this study we present a new method to prepare the PAEI/organomodified MMT (OMMT) NCs through the solution intercalation method. Thermal properties of the PAEI/ 542 S. MALLAKPOUR AND M. KHANI OMMT NCs are determined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), whereas the quality of dispersion of nanoclay is characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis.…”
