Summary
The existence of two species in the genus Taenioma is confirmed from West African material. T. nanum occurs in Sierra Leone and T. perpusillum in Ghana. In West African material of T. nanum the determinate branches invariably end in two hairs. In T. perpusillum, though the majority of determinate branches end in three hairs, two‐haired branches are quite common. They are usually, however, morphologically quite distinct from the two‐haired branches of T. nanum.
