Abstract: Radioactive iodine (radioiodine) therapy is a standard and effective therapeutic approach for high-risk differentiated thyroid carcinomas, based on the unique ability of the thyroid follicular cell to accumulate iodide through the sodium/iodide symporter (NIS).
