“…The evaluation of the Asia Pacific Group (APG) on money laundering in 2018 also led to a strong determination on the part of Taiwan’s Government to comprehensively enhance regulatory compliance among financial institutions. Although Taiwan was a founding member of the APG and was the first one to promulgate laws against money laundering in Asia, Taiwan was downgraded in 2007 and again in 2011 until 2015 (Lin, 2018) because of poor performance of money laundering.
