Parent-grandparent co-parenting has become a common mode in Chinese families; however, its correlation with children's development in the long run remains unclear. Herein, a 10-month follow-up survey was conducted among 253 preschool children and their parents from Chinese parent-grandparent co-parenting families. It aimed to examine the bidirectional longitudinal correlation of children's effortful control with mother-grandparent and father-grandparent co-parenting relationships, as well as the dissimilarity of the two co-parenting relationships. In addition, the moderating role of maternal parenting self-efficacy in these relationships was also investigated. A crosslagged model showed that the (1) mother-grandparent co-parenting relationship (T1) positively predicted the father-grandparent co-parenting relationship (T2), (2) dissimilarity of the mother-grandparent and father-grandparent co-parenting relationships (T1) negatively predicted children's effortful control (T2), and (3) maternal parenting selfefficacy significantly moderated the predictive effect of children's effortful control on a father-grandparent co-parenting relationship. However, a further simple slope analysis showed that after controlling the father-grandparent co-parenting relationship (T1), the children's effortful control (T1) did not significantly predict the father-grandparent co-parenting relationship (T2) either in the high or low maternal parenting selfefficacy group. These results indicated that in Chinese parent-grandparent co-parenting families, the father-grandparent co-parenting relationship was influenced by the mothergrandparent co-parenting relationship, and similar mother-grandparent and fathergrandparent co-parenting relationships were conducive to the development of the children's effortful control.

Objectives: Parenting Self-Efficacy is a very important cognitive construction of the individual assessment of their capability or competency to fulfill their parental role and implies it is favorable and encouraging. The present study aimed to examine the relationship between marital satisfaction and parenting Self-Efficacy among primary school students' parents in Khomeini Shahr city, Iran. Methods: A correlation study on 104 parents of primary school students was carried out in Khomeini Shahr city. Data were collected by demographic, parenting Self-Efficacy and marital satisfaction questionnaires and were analyzed by SPSS version 20.0 software. Results: The findings showed that the mean and standard deviation of participant's age was 36±5.17. Half of the participants were women. The highest education level of 48% was diploma, 37% just went to primary school and 15% went to university. According to the Pearson correlation test there is a significant correlation among total parenting Self-Efficacy score, its domains and marital satisfaction (r=0.362, p=0.001). Among the different domains of parenting Self-Efficacy, feelings and emotions of children and the pressure were not significantly orrelated with marital satisfaction. The highest correlation was found between the domain of discipline and marital satisfaction (r=0.092, p=0.372). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate a direct and significant relationship between parenting Self-Efficacy and marital satisfaction. It is recommended that schools and other educational institute organize educational intervention to increase marital satisfaction and successful parenting.

Effects of Workplace Parent Management Training on Marital and Job Satisfaction among Iranian Working Parents

Background: Shifting the focus of parent management training (PMT) to parents and discussing implications for maximizing the outcomes of PMT for the entire family is new and promising.Objective: We aimed to examine the efficacy of work place PMT on job and marital satisfaction among staff members of an academic center. Methods:We held 8 PMT sessions (1.5 h each) for 20 staff members who were parents to children in the age range of 2-12 years. Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS) and Occupational Descriptive Index [Health and Safety Executive (HSE)] were used for baseline and post-intervention data gathering. DAS higher scores indicate higher marital adjustment satisfaction and higher HSE scores indicate higher occupational stress. To analyze changes in HSE and DAS scores over time, paired t-test and Wilcoxon signed rank test were used, respectively.results: All DAS subscales show significant increased from baseline to the final session except for affectional expression which was not significant. We found no significant changes in total or subscale HSE scores among participants.conclusion: Findings of this study underscore the role of psycho-education usage in work environment and provide evidence about the importance of designing interventions concerning working parents. Implications of PMT are discussed in the text.
