The model relationship of wastes for parameter design with green lean production of fresh water

Abstract: Lean manufacturing is about eliminating waste including the seven traditional, this writing suggested an observation on no value added of seven wastes influencing the process of fresh water production. The relationship value among waste was statistically verified to create an approach for continuous improvement action. Thus, the main goal of this research is to develop a methodology of relationship among wastes and eliminate them. In relationship among wastes, it could be known that the high value indi… Show more

“…The positive and negative ions will show the effect and response of variable concentration, water supply, and pump stroke as shown in Figure 3 and Table 5 below. The effects plot for S/N ratio will indicate the parameter design's optimum mixing processes at the various concentration levels [33]. Parameter design conducted in mixing process, as shown in Figure 4 below, shows that the turbidity value of water supply is above 5 NTU (nephelometric turbidity unit) -which is the standard value for clean water.…”

“…The Smaller The Better (STB) quality characteristic indicates that the smaller the characteristic parameter, the better the quality. Larger The Better (LTB) indicates that the larger the characteristic parameter, the better the quality will be, and the Nominal The Better (NTB) quality characteristic means that the quality will be said to be getting better if it is close to the nominal (target) that has been set through parameter design and response for clean water with various concentrations and levels [26,27].…”

“…The principles in making an enterprise lean can be categorized as identifying value, eliminating waste and generating smooth flow (Tamjidillah and Santoso, 2017). The origins of the combination of lean thinking and management used in the construction should be dated back to 2003 when a group led by Sobotka described the relationship between the listed methods and total quality management – TQM.…”

“…In lean production terms, a good flow is understood to be flow in which the value stream has the minimum possible non-value-adding actions and waste (Womack and Jones, 2003). The main idea of lean is associated with the diminishment of waste (Tamjidillah and Santoso, 2017). In the literature, eight main types of waste are described which could be helpful for the application of the lean principles: overproduction, waiting, over-processing, transportation, storage, unnecessary movement, defects, non-utilized talents (Kadarova and Demecko, 2016).…”
