The Menopause Transition: Physiology, Definition, Symptoms, Diagnosis, and Evaluation

Abstract: The menopause transition is a gradual physiologic process characterized by an intricate interplay between hypothalamic-pituitary axis dysfunction and ovarian follicle failure. Clinically, symptoms are variable and can range from minimal to severe.
