“…Salih et al (2015) described this feature in a specimen attributed to Hyposaurus from ?Campanian-Maastrichtian deposits of Sudan. In North America, Denton et al (1997) mentioned this feature for Hyposaurus rogersii found in Danian deposits (Wiest et al, 2016). In the Paleocene of Colombia, Hastings et al (2010) recorded it for Cerrejonisuchus improcerus, and in the Eocene of Morocco Jouve et al (2006) recognized it in Dyrosaurus maghribensis.…”

“…The teeth have a circular cross section and their labial and lingual surfaces are marked by well-developed, straight carinae. The 'twisted' carina characteristic of Hyposaurus (NJSM 12293) (Denton et al, 1997) is not present. The tooth crowns are posteriorly curved, which is a feature present in other dyrosaurids (Cope, 1886;Barbosa et al, 2008), and they also present a broad base and acute apex.…”

“…In crocodylians and relatives, the vertebrae fuse from the tail forward (Brochu 1996). Nonetheless, G. munizi appears to be smaller than most dyrosaurid taxa known so far except for H. rogersii from the Maastrichtian of the USA (Denton et al 1997).…”

“…The teeth are long, show strong striations and unserrated anterior and posterior carinae (figure 2i ). They lack the particular medially 'twisted' anterior carina reported in Hyposaurus (Denton et al 1997). The anterior-most teeth are arched, curving posteriorly.…”
