“…As seen in the findings of the bronchoscopy on admission in the present case, a tracheal laceration that apparently is sealed rapidly occurs immediately after injury in the posterior membranous trachea. Later, the mucosal blood supply has been disrupted by the tracheal blowout, and ischemia of the bruised esophageal mucosa results in TEF formation [4].
