Abstract:Mortality following Fontan surgery has significantly decreased; however, postoperative morbidity rates remain high and can lead to unfavorable outcomes. Early post-Fontan pathway obstructions can result in persistent pleural effusion, cyanosis, and low cardiac output syndrome (LCOS).
