“…As an intangible resource, territorial capital is a “relational good,” whereby the territory is formed as an organizational system of local actors who invest in the local cognitive patrimony (Vespasiano, 2005). This evidently agrees with the concept of social capital (Coleman, 1990; Putnam, 2000; Trigilia, 2005), arriving at developing the concept of “territorial social capital” (Celata and Coletti, 2014; Hvižďáková and Urbančíková, 2014; Sansone et al , 2015; Obrecht, 2016; Romano et al , 2017).…”

“…We collected our samples through convenience sampling and would suggest that future research expand our findings through perhaps an online sampling method and a marketing research firm panel, to increase ecological validity. Another limitation of our study is that we did not directly measure social capital in the USA and Poland, although as Hvižďáková and Urbančíková (2014, p. 124) indicated, “Social capital, like other aggregate and multidimensional concepts, is hard to measure”. As social capital is a macromarketing measure, such as quality of life, and social networking success is a micro-level construct, a causal modelling approach would be very difficult in this case.…”

“…There are various studies on the effects of social capital from different perspectives. These include economic growth (Fukuyama, 1995; Knack and Keefer, 1997; Iyer et al , 2005; Postelnicu and Hermes, 2018), finance and banking (Pilatin and Ayaydın, 2022a, 2022b; Jin et al , 2019; Hasan et al , 2017), higher education (Coleman, 1988), higher financial development (Grootaert, 1999; Guiso et al , 2004) and productivity (Nahapiet and Ghoshal, 1997; Przybyła, 2020), agriculture (Bayramoğlu and Bozdemir, 2020), innovation (Akçomak and ter Weel, 2006; Akçomak and Müller-Zick, 2013; Hvıžďáková and Urbančíková, 2014; Akar and Ay, 2018), lower crime and homicide (La Porta, 1997; Rosenfeld et al , 2001) and better public health opportunities (Kawachi et al , 2004; Gönç Şavran, 2018). Examples are studies that show positive results related to higher value creation and productivity by companies.…”
