“…The till is characterised by calcium carbonate concentrations of 10-30% which is about 30 times higher than the Swedish reference data (Lundin et al, 2004;Tröj-bom and Söderbäck, 2006). Its origin are Palaeozoic limestone deposits at the bottom of the Baltic Sea northwards (Ingemar and Moreborg, 1976), transported to the area by the Pleistocene ice sheet. Also the Sr concentration is elevated (27-175 ppm;Tröjbom and Söderbäck, 2006), most likely as a result of Sr accumulation in the calcium carbonate.…”
