The Law of Instability and Failure of the Slope of Dumping Site: A Case Study in Inner Mongolia, China

Abstract: In order to study the law of instability and failure in the process of loading of the south dumping site of Hesgoola Coal Mine, the FLAC 3D numerical simulation experiment and the bottom friction simulation experiment were carried out for the deformation and failure of the slope of the south dumping site, the law of instability and failure in the process of loading of south dumping site is obtained, and the relevant safety precontrol measures and suggestions are put forward. This is of great significance to en… Show more

“…Wang et al [ 41 ] established a three-dimensional damage creep model based on damage theory and elastic wave theory, combined with FLAC3D, and the simulation results were more consistent with the actual deformation characteristics of tunnels. FLAC3D had also been used to study the instability and failure laws of the inner dump during the loading process, providing guarantee for safe production in the mining area [ 42 ]. Therefore, the Burgers model is more suitable for studying the creep characteristics of the dump site, and combining on-site monitoring data, indoor tests, and numerical simulation methods to study the deformation laws of the dump site has guiding significance for the optimization of the dump site.…”
