The Lancashire Quality of Life Profile: modification and psychometric evaluation

Abstract: The modified version of the LQoLP now covers ten domains, paying specific attention to patients' definition of quality of life (autonomy, coping, self-worth). Domains are now based on factor analysis. The problem of systematic missing data is solved. Psychometric properties are good. Because of moderate alphas, two domains need further investigation.

“…The independent variables were entered in the following steps: sociodemographic variables; age at onset of illness, duration of illness and family history of mental illness; the 5 domains and total scores of the Camberwell Assessment of Need; the 4 caregiving consequences' domains of the Involvement Evaluation Questionnaire; the total Verona Service Satisfaction Scale scores; the positive/negative self-esteem, positive/negative affect from the LQoLP, and the objective QOL indicators of the LQoLP. For the multiple regression data, multicollinearity (i.e., significant correlation between dependent variable and independent variables) was assessed by the values of 'tolerance' (cutoff score ^ 0.2) and variance inflation factor (cutoff score 1 4.0) [50] .…”

“…As an outcome measure for group comparisons, the Lancashire Quality of Life Profile, which covers a large number of different areas, has proved to be a valid instrument for the evaluation of medical and social interventions [40,41] . Due to the fact that not all life-satisfaction scales (e.g.…”
