The intestinal microbiome, probiotics and prebiotics in neurogastroenterology

Abstract: The brain-gut axis allows bidirectional communication between the central nervous system (CNS) and the enteric nervous system (ENS), linking emotional and cognitive centers of the brain with peripheral intestinal functions.
