The internet usage of religious organizations in Mainland China: Case analysis of the Buddhist Association of China

Abstract: This article explores common characteristics of official Chinese religious organizations' internet usage by specifically investigating the online presence of the Buddhist Association of China. By focusing on this case study, we are able to map official religious groups' use of and attitudes toward new media in China, especially the internet.
