“…Rather than simply ignoring the capabilities and potential of AI applications, educators could assign different tasks to students. One example is to ask students to critically evaluate AI generated content (Baidoo‐Anu & Ansah, 2023; García‐Peñalvo, 2023; Haensch et al, 2023). “…Given TikTok's 3.7 million active UK users, with 26% aged 18-24 (Bendix, 2023), the potential for covert cheating is significant. Moreover, both Tlili et al (2023) and Haensch et al (2023) emphasise very little discourse related to negative aspects of using generative AI in education, meaning that systems such as ChatGPT may be used without much reflection and evaluation.…”

“…The potential implications of this study suggest that AI technology may serve as a valuable tool for supporting EAP students in improving their speaking skills. Haensch et al (2023) analyzed TikTok the social media content to better understand how students perceive and use ChatGPT. The findings suggest that students are interested in using ChatGPT for various tasks, but there is also a concern about its potential impact on academic integrity.…”
