The Integration of Augmented Reality and Virtual Laboratory based on the 5E Model and Vark Assessment: A Conceptual Framework

Abstract: Engineering education in aviation vocational education builds up skills and attitudes. Students must deal with the laboratory complexity, especially in radar training. Students must understand so much basic knowledge and enhance their skills. The high equipment cost and inflexibility of current learning make radar training less effective and cognitive. Augmented Reality (AR) integrated with laboratory activities is an opportunity to improve learning outcomes for vocational education training in an online learn… Show more

“…The future holds increasing adoption of augmented reality in education due to its diverse advantages (Alyousify & Mstafa, 2022;Garzón et al, 2019;Purwaningtyas et al, 2022;Tzima & Styliaras, 2019). Augmented reality's integration into learning represents a new stride in learning technology (Aththibby et al, 2021), fostering self-directed learning and empowering students to gain knowledge and skills through novel environments and information tools (Kiryakova et al, 2018).…”

“…For this purpose, immersive technologies will be used, and the most used in the area of education, mainly in the teaching of complex disciplines, are virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality [20]. When using these three technologies together, there is an expansion of the work, and it is called extended reality or cross-reality [21].…”

“…Augmented Reality media will have a practical effect on students in visualizing material during the learning process (Purwaningtyas et al, 2022), especially in learning physics which requires more visualization for the concepts displayed (Septian & Burhendi, 2022). Augmented Reality media is suitable and supports the practicality of learning so that students can see visualizations of their material in the form of 2D and 3D objects in real life.…”
