The innovative conveying device application for transferring articles between two-levels of a multi-story building

Abstract

The need for corporations to expand or functionally alter their existing multi-story buildings increases because of rapid changes in the competitive environment. However, limited by building structures and the availability of space, when planning cross-level material handling, effective article transfer equipment integration becomes an important issue. The complexity and difficulty is far greater than that for traditional article transfer operations on a single-level floor area. Therefore, based on the concept of personal computers being able to replace IBM mainframes in the market, this paper proposed a smaller and more mobile multilevel device for article transfers that has the capacity to integrate other plant equipment to replace the conventional conveying device. This paper will make suggestions for cross-level article transfer device applications for use in different environments and industries. The structure of this facility is simple and its modularized design allows flexible expansion to accommodate corporate growth.
