“…In contrast, older adults whose parents used negative family interaction when they were young, for example: inconsistent discipline and harsh discipline, older adults had higher level of anxiety and depression. The result is similar to the Yeh's 2016 findings with Australian nursing students [8] that positive family interaction had a significantly positive association with psychological well-being and a significantly negative association with suicidal ideation [8] . The result is also similar to the findings of Yeh and Chiao's study among college students in the US in 2013 [13] that the higher the scores of parents' inconsistent discipline and negative child rearing attitudes plus the lower the score of communication, the lower were the scores of their children's psychological well-being and the higher their scores on suicidal ideation [13] .…”
