The influence of the spectroscopic deformation of Li-isotopes on their interaction with51V

Abstract: The energy dependence of the total reaction cross section ~r r and its tensor analyzing power T~o was measured for the 7Li-51V interaction in the energy range ELi=10-20MeV using two different experimental methods. Reaction residues were observed directly by their characteristic 7-emission, and the elastic scattering of 7Li from 51V was investigated. Additionally, the elastic scattering of 6Li from 51V was measured at 9.8, 12 and 14 MeV. The tensor analyzing power data can be interpreted as being caused by the … Show more

“…As a consequence of the positive spectroscopic nuclear quadrupole moment of 23Na, the tensor analyzing power Tfus, z0 is positive at low energies and negative at high energies. It crosses zero at ECM ~--25 MeV, as it is expected from the shape effect model [42]. The prediction of the surface friction model disagrees with the experimental value, despite its relatively large error bar.…”

“…Additionally shown is the /-dependence of the transmission coefficients T~ for unpolarized projectiles at these energies. As expected from the success of the sharp cutoff model [5,6], at E=17.5MeV Acr~ is different from zero only for/-values near the grazing angular momentum. Only positive values of Ao-~ contribute to Aa r at this energy.…”

“…The centrifugal term h z l(l+ 1)/2#R~ has been subtracted from E l to obtain a reduced reaction barrier height for comparison with the s-wave barrier parameter V(Ro) from the sharp cutoff model [5,6,12]. Though the reduced barrier height and the radius R l show a slight variation with l, the values do not deviate more than 5% from the sharp cutoff values V(Ro) =9.6+_I.0MeV and Ro=9.5+0.3MeV [5,6]. In fact, for all orbital angular momenta these barrier parameters have values within the range of uncertainty of the sharp cutoff parameters.…”
