The influence of the size and surface modification of TiO2 nanoparticles on the rheological properties of alkyd resin

Abstract: IzvodSferne čestice TiO 2 različitih veličina dispergovane su u alkidnoj smoli. Površinska modifikacija nanočestica TiO 2 izvedena je propil galatom i lauril galatom. Ispitivan je uticaj veličine nanočestica TiO 2 , koncentracije, kao i vrste površinske modifikacije na reološka svojstva alkidne smole. “…In our previous articles, we have prepared TiO 2 NPs surface modified with different esters of gallic acid and investigated their influence on the properties of different polymer NCs: poly(methyl methacrylate)/TiO 2 NCs , polystyrene/TiO 2 NCs , and epoxy resin/TiO 2 NCs . We have also examined the influence of TiO 2 NPs surface modified with different gallates or imine based on 3,4‐dihydroxybenzaldehyde and oleylamine (DHBAOA) on the properties of long oil soy alkyd resin‐based coating and dispersions made from these NPs and soy alkyd resin . The results presented in these articles revealed that the presence of gallate or imine coupling agent can improve compatibility between polymer matrix and NPs and that dispersability of TiO 2 NPs surface modified with gallates in polymer matrix is influenced by the hydrophobic part length of gallic acid esters.…”
