“…The aim of the present study was to apply three Schiff base ligands immobilized on the surface of SiO 2 –Al 2 O 3 mixed oxides using a heterogeneous method. SiO 2 –Al 2 O 3 mixed oxides, or composites of them, are widely used as catalysts and ceramic materials. Clay minerals, zeolites, , mullite, and SiO 2 –Al 2 O 3 catalysts , are examples of materials where the existence of Al–O–Si bond structures or Al 2 O 3 –SiO 2 interfaces controls their final performance for the desired application. The surface formed contains multidentate ligands that were inspired by their previous application in bioinorganic chemistry (enzyme modelization) and in medical imaging, such as a heteroatom in the organic chain.…”
