Abstract. The paper considers 'time', a fundamental category of human existence, in the context of cognitive processes research in modern culture. Main methodological approaches to determining temporality in myth have been outlined. The authors validate a thesis that methods of understanding time in science and myth at the current development stage of research of the specified worldview forms as cognitive practices correlate. Main features of a 'time' concept and its function in mythological thinking, such as unity, interpenetrability, verticality, have been formulated. Myth creates senses, forms a steady ontological picture of the world, makes a human an active source in "constructing the reality". In this connection, myth mostly plays the role of one of the algorithms of cognitive activity in the context of modern cognitive science. A "temporality" concept realized in myth forms conditions to use it as one of ontological foundations in the modern research of cognitive processes. Main types of temporality in classical and nonclassical science have been described. The specificity of time concept transformation in non-classical science and actualization of relativity and probability of processes and their complementary nature have been revealed. D.Chou's bootstrap theory of particles has been studied. There has been shown that temporary processes of the micro-world are discrete, diverse and do not exist within the framework of universal integrity which to a great extent correlates with the modern scientific worldview and principles of cognitive practices.

The aim of the paper is to diagnose social attitudes towards professional work of the 55+ generation of Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary. The analysis is based on the research carried out in Katowice, Ostrava and Debrecen among the 55-65 age group. The research was conducted in April – June 2019. The resulting discussion concerns the cognitive, affective and behavioural attitudes towards professional work. Three national groups are compared. The research findings indicate that taking into account all components of the overall attitude, it is the Poles who achieve the highest value of a positive attitude towards work, then the Hungarians, and finally the Czechs. The Poles demonstrate a consistent attitude towards work, with the individual components displaying similar results. The Czechs exhibit an inconsistent attitude. The highest value is achieved by the affective component and the lowest - by the behavioural one. The Hungarians also show an inconsistent attitude. The cognitive component achieves the same values as in the Czech Republic, however, the affective component achieves a very low value and the behavioural component is high. In Conclusions, the author shows that the economic activity of the 55+ generation is influenced by objective factors, in particular the state policy in the field of obtaining retirement rights and employment opportunities.

Abstract. The article examines the problems of the transition of modern Russia towards the formation of an innovative economy, with a special emphasis on the investigation of the key challenges that Russian universities face while training engineers equipped for innovative activities. The paper considers the impact of cultural characteristics of the Russian society on the organization and content of an education process in a technical university, on "producing" engineers capable of developing innovation. In our analysis we use a comparative approach, as well as the outcomes of the etnometric studies based on the method by G. Hofstede. The study presents the comparative analysis of the organization and content of engineering training at two universities representing Russia and the United States. The results of the study show that further productive development of the Russian system of engineering education towards integration with Western systems is possible provided that the value orientation of the Russian state and society is significantly revised.
