The influence of roughness on some magnetic properties of layered structures of Fe, Co separated Cu or Au

Abstract: The system of two magnetic (M) layers divided by nonmagnetic (N) spacer is considered. Roughness in interface region is introduced employing model proposed by Bruno and Chappert. Presence of roughness leads to modification of interface exchange parameter and interface anisotropy in comparison to samples with ideal interface. The magnetisation distribution and Curie temperature has been calculated using Green function formalism for systems consisting of Fe or Co standing for M and Cu or Au standing for N, respe… Show more

“…Although the magnetization profiles in thin films were already studied for NN interactions a long time ago 8,34,35 , as far as we know for the long-range RKKY interactions the above presented profiles are found for the first time. Prediction of the profiles would need some experimental confirmation in the future studies of DMS systems.…”

“…2,3,4,5,6,7,8 . In parallel to studies of metallic systems, the progress in the field of thin films made of diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS), such as the most representative (Ga,Mn)As, offers some new possibilities to study the diluted magnetic systems with confined geometry.…”

“…Magnetisation of the system and its temperature dependence can be then obtained [10]. We have calculated the spin wave parameter B describing decrease of spontaneous magnetisation M (T ) of the considered system with temperature as a result of magnon excitation in low temperature region given by the Bloch law as…”
