“…The prominent peak at about 465 cm À1 corresponded to the F 2g vibration mode of cubic CeO 2 , which could be considered as the symmetric breathing vibrational mode of the O anions around Ce cations. 19,22 However, a shi in the Raman frequency to higher wavenumber from 463 cm À1 at 400 C to 472 cm À1 at 700 C was observed, which resulted from the incorporation of more Zr into the lattice of the cerium zirconium solid solution, as evidenced by XRD results. It was surprise that a less prominent band at around 477 cm À1 was visible in the Raman spectra of catalysts; the intensity of this band gradually decreased with increasing the calcination temperature, and nally the band vanished in the spectrum of W/CZ-700.…”

“…5). According to the literature, 19,21 the radius of Zr 4+ (0.84Å) is smaller than that of Ce 4+ (0.97Å), and the incorporation of zirconia into the ceria lattice led to the shrinkage of the crystal cells, which induced a shi of 2q value to higher values. Consequently, the incorporation of more zirconia into the ceria lattice resulted in an increase in the 2q value aer higher temperature calcination.…”

“…Currently, along with the great demand for multicomponent materials, several techniques are being used in fabricating composite materials like solid solution precipitation and high-temperature sintering. 20,21 Even so, these processes still have room for improvement in the respect of sufficient and even dissolution in the solid phase of various components. In this work, we introduced the atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique in the deposition of Bi x Al y O z films with a various number of bismuth cycles (expressed by m=5, 10,20) and one aluminum cycle (expressed by n=1) in a super cycle.…”

Bismuth was incorporated by forming solid solution films with Bi 2 O 3 and Al 2 O 3 (the experimental details can be seen in the supplementary material).…”
