The influence of period between U-shaped resonators on metasurface response at terahertz frequency range

Abstract: In this paper we study the influence of the period between U-shaped split-ring resonators (SRRs) on the transmission/absorbtion properties and refraction index of metasurfaces in THz frequency range (0.1 -1 THz) using experiments and numerical simulations. The metasurfaces are formed by U-shaped SRRs arrays. The period varies from 63 to 300 µm The metasurface electromagnetic responses are obtained using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. The experimental and numerical results reveal the shift in transmission … Show more

“…In recent years, metasurfaces have stood out from numerous means of controlling light fields due to their simple structure and ease of integration. Metasurfaces are a new type of two-dimensional artificial structure surface based on the generalized Snell's law, which can achieve precise control of electromagnetic waves [18][19][20][21] . It consists of multiple unit structures arranged in a certain order on a two-dimensional plane.…”
