The influence of mitigation policies of the International Climate Change Regime in the reduction of greenhouse gases in the area of transport

Abstract: This paper aims to examine the evolution of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the transportation sector in megacities and their countries of origin, to discuss the effectiveness of the International Climate Change Regime (ICCR). It starts by analyzing national communications from 17 countries of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and 5 national inventories, where the 31 megacities of the study are located.
