The influence of mechanochemical activation on the Zn–Ce–O composition properties

Abstract: The influence of mechanochemical treatment in air at different conditions (treatment time, ballto-powder ratio, diameter of the balls) on oxide zinc-cerium composition ZnO-CeO 2 ¼ 50:50 (molar ratio) properties was studied. The decrease in the particle size of oxides (CeO 2 -from 57 up to 18 nm, ZnO -from 174 up to 40 nm) and formation of Zn-Ce-O nanocomposite was shown by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy methods. The optimal treatment conditions (diameter of the balls 5-10 mm, ball-to-po… Show more

“…The MA was carried out with a zirconia cup with ZrO2 milling medium distributed in the range of 8 to 40 mm in a planetary ball mill with a rotational speed of 250 rpm. The ZrO2 ball to powder weight ratio (BRP) was 10:1; it agrees with [10][11]. The MA duration for milling the powders was (1, 10, and 45) hrs.…”
