The Influence of Laser Ablation Parameters on the Holes Structure of Laser Manufactured Graphene Paper Microsieves

Abstract: The graphene paper microsieves can be applied in the filtration of biological fluids or separation of solid particles from exploitation fluids. To produce graphene paper microsieves for specific applications, good control over fabrication should be achieved. In this study, a laser ablation method using a picosecond laser was applied to fabricate graphene paper microsieves. Holes in the microsieves were drilled using pulsed laser radiation with a pulse energy from 5 to 100 µJ, a duration of 60 ps, a wavelength … Show more

“…All microsieves used were manufactured by laser ablation using the PL2210/SH/TH/FH picosecond laser from EKSPLA (EKSPLA, Vilnius, Lithuania). A diagram of the laser system with a complete description is presented in publication [ 39 ]. The impulse energy was controlled with the polarization silencer 990-0070-355 manufactured by EKSPLA (EKSPLA, Vilnius, Lithuania) [ 39 ].…”

“…The aim of the work was to demonstrate the possibility of producing nanoparticles from copper, brass and 18Cr9Cr steel by laser ablation method. For obtaining metal nanoparticles by mentioned method a picosecond pulse laser type EKSPLA PL 2210/SH/TH/ FH was used [14,15]. The nominal laser parameters were as follows: pulse energy on the first harmonic (1064 nm wavelength) was 3 mJ, on the second one (532nm) -1.3 mJ, on the third one (355 nm) -0.9 mJ and on fourth one (266 nm) -0.6 mJ, respectively.…”

“…Research on the application possibilities of using graphene and its derivatives in bioengineering is a source of inspiration for many scientists around the world. Graphene oxide (GO) flakes are flat 2D structures [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. It is assumed that when >5 layers of carbon atoms are connected to each other there is already another allotropic variant of carbon (graphite and graphite oxide, for example).…”
