The Influence of Inter‐Fibre Fracture in Layered Laminates on Stiffness Degradation: A Numerical Investigation

Abstract: A detailed finite‐element analysis of possible influences on the stiffness reduction of layered laminates due to tolerable IFF has been carried out and the IFF accumulation has been calculated. It is shown that both the transverse Young modulus and the in‐plane shear modulus are degraded independently with increasing IFF density.
